Hyaluronic acid injections are used to “fill in” areas of the face that are dehydrated and/or have lost their natural volume.
Treatment will depend on the depth of the lines or wrinkles. The fluid nature of hyaluronic acid means it is totally adaptable to a patient’s individual needs and profile. Indeed, as hyaluronic acid is more or less reticulated and so, in turn, more or less fluid, it is able to offer different, distinct outcomes.
Hyaluronic acid can be used to restore volume to the cheekbone area, any hollowing around the cheeks and lips and will also fill both shallow and deeper wrinkles on the neckline/décolleté, the under-eye area and the creases running from the mouth to the nose (smile lines).
Hyaluronic acid injections enable a subtle and natural remodelling of contours that have altered with time.
A fine cannula is inserted into the treatment zone allowing an appropriate amount of hyaluronic acid to be distributed under the skin to give a natural result. It will not only replenish lost volume but will also rehydrate the areas treated.
By using very fine cannulas, these microinjections are non-invasive and therefore virtually pain-free.
Results will last according to the quantity of product injected into the skin. They can last for up to 2 years.
The microinjections may cause slight redness and bruising but these will disappear rapidly after the procedure.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that is biodegradable and is naturally re-absorbed by the body.
